“At Leverton we share to learn”

Aims & Objectives

The school aims to provide a caring learning environment which is enhanced by our vision.

Below is our school vision which was created in September 2005 by the Stakeholders. It is based on our values and beliefs and gives the school direction in all aspects of learning.

At Leverton we:
S ecurity
H appiness
A spirations
R espect
E ffort
...To learn

This is implemented in the day to day running of the school and is linked to the objectives in the School Improvement Plan which is reviewed annually. For the forthcoming year the school's main priorities are:

  • To raise attainment so it is 1.25 points above the national average
  • To develop music in the school by participating in the voices foundation
  • To Improve parent participation in the life of the school

The following has been achieved during the academic year 2010/11:

The front office has been re-organised to provide for a larger office, toilet facilities for disabled persons have been created and the pupil toilets have been remodeled.

To increase parental involvement in their children's learning, a weekly newsletter has been introduced, coffee mornings held to gauge parents' views and a new school PTA has been set up.

At the time of the school league tables being published In December 2010, The Leverton Junior School was once again the 6th best in Essex for the value added. This is the extra progress that the children make in our school.

It is important that we constantly measure the progress your child is making at all times throughout the year. All schools are at the moment developing the use of Assessing Pupils' Progress (APP) grids to provide a Teacher Assessment.
